Hi, friends. Happy Friday! I don’t do product reviews very often because I’m not that kinda blog. But when I do find a good/new/notable product, I love to share with you what I like about it. (Remember the AeroPress and Lemongrass Spa and ReUsies? Those are all cool things.) Anyways. Today I want to tell you about a great line I recently discovered: Norwex. Click through to figure out what it is…
Sarah W (Sarahj….(at)gmail.com)! Contact me within 48 hours to receive your awesome Norwex cleaning cloths!
So I’m getting my hair done last spring when my hairstylist tells me about this awesome new thing she uses to wash her face: a microfiber cloth and water. That’s it. What? Just water?! I perked up. What could this magic be? No soap? (I’ve told you before that I use the OCM method to wash my face, but sometimes I still use a little soap to get stubborn mascara off. I’d love not to.) She explained about a company that makes really micro-micro-microfiber cleaning/personal products that cleanse so well with just water, there is no need for soap or other chemicals, and that’s how I learned about Norwex.
Norwex is a direct sales company from Norway. It specializes in super-fine, high-quality microfiber products but also offers body care lines and chemical-free cleansers. Norwex microfiber’s strands are about 1/200th the size of a human hair (so really, really tiny). The miniscule fibers create more nooks and crannies to actually collect dirt and grime, resulting in a super clean surface free of, well, anything. Also, many of the microfiber products are laced with silver strands which provide anti-bacterial self-purification qualities to keep the cloth free from mildew and ready for the next use. The remarkable thing about Norwex microfiber is the impeccable clean the cloth yields (with only water), and it doesn’t necessarily need to be washed after every use due to the antibac system.
My friend connected me with her friend, a Norwex consultant. We met and she was gracious enough to demonstrate the product. She also provided me one Enviro Cloth (the basic all-purpose microfiber) and one Window Cloth to try for myself. And I’ve got to tell you— I am really, really impressed. These cloths take clean to a whole new level using only water. I love that. I haven’t used Windex in my home or on my car for over six months. And my mirrors have never been so beautifully streak-free. The microfiber is soft, the cloths are just the right size and make cleaning fast and easy. And even better is that, thanks to their unique self-cleansing properties they stay fresh for several uses before a wash.
Oh, and should I mention the cost benefit or environmental impact? Imagine not using cleaning products on your surfaces at home and how much you could save per year using only water. Then, imagine the amount of paper towels or whatever you currently use to clean windows/ bathrooms/ kitchen counters/ appliances. Yes, the products are a little pricey upfront, but they last a loooonnnggg time. It’s a good pay-off.
One quick search for “Norwex” on the all-knowing internet will reveal that not everyone is a fan of the company or believes their’ scientific claims. But that’s okay. I can honestly say that I’ve tried the basic cleaning cloths and without a doubt, for multipurpose household surface cleaning, these microfiber products are pretty darn neat. (Literally and figuratively. Catch that? I am so clever.)
