A quick catch-up

Hello! Smallish has been down for a few weeks, so I figured I’d get back in the saddle with a quick catch-up of what late January and early February brought to our doorstep. Well, besides that horrible site virus (totally gone now, by the way!) and snow. Lots of snow. Keep reading to see what’s been going on with us.
Our past few weeks have looked like this:
Caveman lost his job. It was a complete blindside, out of the blue. Bang. No job.
Caveman took a temporary job. Hooray for paychecks!
The clothes dryer broke.
A scheduled remodel on the bathroom shower began.
We took to the mountains for the wedding of a dear friend (hence the rare picture of me not wearing jeans and Caveman not in his signature Under Armour shorts). It was also nice to escape the construction and have a dryer for a week while we crashed with my parents.
Back at the Shoebox, the dryer was still not fixed. It was all disposable diapers at this point, ya’ll. Caveman had been spending enough time at the laundromat as it was.
I went through cheese withdrawals and nearly broke Caveman’s arm attempting to take a bite of his mac ‘n cheese. Good thing he’s strong. His bones are intact, and I am still kind of avoiding most dairy. Most of the time.
Caveman accepted a new position with a good company. We praise God deeply for His continual provision.
The dryer is only just NOW getting totally fixed. The poor repairman is actually still tinkering away in our bathroom–and it’s 9:20 p.m on Wednesday night. Bless his cotton socks.
Sooooo, it’s been a little bit of a crazy ride. Interestingly enough, it hasn’t really felt like one. I’ll tell you more about that later. For now, let me just say that I’m thankful be back blogging and sharing company with all you fine folks. While I get my feet back under me, feel free to browse the archives: Your downsized home: what makes the cut?, Cloth wipes and a homemade solution, Easy make-ahead potato rolls (totally making these this week!!

That’s a lot going on. . . on top of a computer virus! I’m really glad that your husband was able to find work so quickly. It’s a great blessing in this economy.
Jenifer, you are so right. We’ve felt God’s amazing goodness through the past month. He always takes such good care of us!
Awesome update, Girl!!! You look stinkin’ AMAZING in your dress!!!
Thanks, Symmetry Sister.
your photo is AMAZING. I love your family! I miss you guys so very much. A little trip down to the Shoebox sounds so good about now… Sounds like we have some catching up to do! Love you-may you keep basking in His good provision
Miss you too, Mrs. Wesonga.
Ee! You look awesome in your dress. That really is a lot to handle but it’s amazing that Caveman got a new job so fast! How is life without a dryer going? Article please:)
Thanks Stephanie! I thought about writing about life with no dryer, but there really wasn’t much to write. It’s too cold to line dry outside lately, so Caveman just spent a lot of time at the laundromat in the evenings. But I’m thinking of trying a whole week of only hand washing clothes this summer…. haha I think I might be masochistic!
